River developed a Leadership Learning Lab at the Institute for Interdisciplinary Studies of the Unversity of Amsterdam (UvA). 20 courageous honours students entered a pioneering laboratory to find out in what way higher education can facilitate a more complete development of its students.  Thieu Besselink designed the course and facilitated the students on their adventures. May 8th the documentary that was made of this experiment will be shown in Amsterdam, and for the first time interested society sharpers can come and meet the students.

The Generative Research (GR) methodology was tested and developed further in this laboratory. In a daring environment students are pushed to take ownership over their own learning and gradually shift their role from absorbing student to design author of knowledge, their lives, and the social environment.
